Just before the 2002 trade deadline, Colón and Tim Drew were traded to the Montreal Expos in exchange for Lee Stevens, Brandon Phillips, and prospects Grady Sizemore and Cliff Lee.

Brandon Phillips never worked out, but they got two diamonds in the rough when it came to Lee and Sizemore.

  1. The Indians will never sign any of their homegrown stars. Don’t get too attached to the name on the back of the uniform. The name on the front is more important. Enjoy them while you have them(eg. Jose Ramirez, Shane Bieber)

  2. Also, being a contender is not good enough. I saw those examples below. Eventually you have to win the whole thing!
