After going 5 for 5 week one, and even nailing the bonus of Miami over New England by picking the underdogs who would beat the spread, if not all in out win, we decided to go for it again this week. The only difference, this time we flip the script and pick 5 Favorites that are a sure thing to cover the spread.
San Francisco as a 3.5 point favorite over Philly
Clearly Vegas wasn’t swayed by the Eagles impressive win week one and neither are we. Atlanta has quickly shown they may be one of the worst teams in the NFL yet again this year. Jalen Hurtz did look impressive, but can he string it together back-to-back weeks?
As for SF, I feel as though they are just getting started. They may not blow out Philly on the road, but they are good enough to cover the 3.5 twice over. Eli Mitchell may be a fantasy stud this year that no one saw coming in the backfield as well. Jimmy G threw for over 300 yards and this team looks legit!
Buffalo as a 3-point favorite at Miami
Allow me to take a road favorite with my second selection as well. Buffalo is embarrassed after last weeks poor showing against Pittsburgh. The Bills will be on a mission to embarrass the Dolphins and stake their claim as the elite of the AFC East. Even with the Dolphins tough defense, I would be shocked if Josh Allen and the high-powered Bills attack gets shut down two weeks in a row. They will cover the spread.
Arizona will cover the 4.5 spread over Minnesota
The Cardinals did us well last week, and we will go with them again here. The Vikings defense remains shaky for the second straight season. A once perennial playoff contender in Minnesota, is no longer and they look lost. Despite the last second comeback attempt at Cincy, the Vikings don’t seem to have it yet.
Arizona is much improved from last year, and with Kyler Murray at the helm for the third straight season in this offense, they will only get better. They put 38 points on Tennessee and blew them out from start to finish. The need to find a run game and get Chase Edmunds going, however even with that concern, they will have no trouble covering the 4.5
Tampa will cover the 12.5 spread over Atlanta
After week one, there are many question marks around the NFL. It is to be expected. Two things we know for sure however are that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are still very good, and the Atlanta Falcons are still very bad. Not only will the Buccs cover, but they will blow them out!
Green Bay as a 10.5 Favorite over Detroit will cover
Like the Bills, the Packers are coming off of a shocking first week loss and will be plenty pissed off. The Packers have had the Lions number at home for many years prior, and this weekend they will be playing like a team possessed. Fans came make fun of Aaron Rodgers all they want, but he will use that to fuel him.
