Week 5 Northeast Ohio Football Top Five

5. Glenville Tarblooders (3-1, Last Week: 38-0 vs. John Adams, Previous Rank: 5)

The Tarblooders made quick work of their Senate League foe, dispatching the Rebels 38-0 at home. Glenville will make the long trip down to Bradenton, Florida, to take on national powerhouse IMG Academy, the fourth-ranked team in the country, according to MaxPreps.

Just Missed

Cleveland Heights Tigers (3-1, Last Week: 13-10 @ Brunswick)

After trailing most of the contest, the Tigers did enough in the second half to survive the Blue Devil upset bid 13-10. Held in check for most of the first half, star RB Marquise Davis finished with 122 yards rushing and both Heights’ touchdowns. The Tigers will host their first-ever GCC game this Friday night when they welcome a hot Mentor Cardinals (2-2) squad into town, fresh off a 42-41 win over Medina.

Hudson Explorers (3-1, Last Week: 44-14 @ Stow-Munroe Falls)

Though the Explorers were without starting RB Ian Ludewig (injury), Hudson dominated the ground game en route to a 44-14 win at Stow-Munroe Falls. The Explorers racked up 219 yards rushing and scored six first-half touchdowns. Hudson is on the road again this week as they take on the Twinsburg Tigers (2-2) on Thursday night.

Kenston Bombers (4-0, Last Week: 49-27 @ Villa Angela-St. Joseph)

The Bombers may be flying under the radar for some, but with the season RB Sean Patrick is having, that won’t be the case for long. The Akron commit scored five touchdowns in last Friday’s win and has 683 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground in just four games. Kenston hits the road Friday night to take on Lake Catholic (3-1).
