Tombstone Three – The Undertaker as a mentor
I also thought it was great to see The Undertaker as a mentor to so many young stars when they first came in years ago. Big names such as The Big Show, Kurt Angle and The Hardy Boyz to name a few. You see this again towards the end of the episode with him talking and encouraging Roman Reigns.
The Undertaker gets a bad wrap of being selfish but this first episode proved anything but. He goes on the record several times saying he wants to do it for the fans, his peers and Vince. He even goes as far to say he doesn’t want to take the spot of a young wrestler who is always there on the road just so he can have his moment instead.
The Undertaker goes on to explain that he may only have one match a year, but the entire thing comes with a process. Trian for Mania, have the match, have surgery, rehab and begin training again. He sacrifices more than most knew about until now.
Again, as I stated in the beginning, we can only hope they start from day one of his career in the late 80’s down south, and move on from there. Time will tell…
