3 “The Simpsons” Characters You Never Knew Died

1 – Edna Krabappel

This one was a shocker and left this writer emotionally stunned.  By the way, she married Ned Flanders which is another thing no one saw coming.

She dies in Season 25 in 2013.  It is not explained clearly what happened, but it is hard not to get choked up.  Ned is dancing with her on a rooftop dance floor when he throws her up and catches her.  He tells her of his love for her and how happy he is that they found each other.  He goes to throw her up again, and then the next thing you see is him sitting next to pictures of her and Maude, with an black armband on.

To begin the final scene, Ned and Edna dance the tango, but we then learn that this is a dream that Ned is having. When he wakes up, he is wearing a black band, suggesting he is mourning his second wife. Her photo is in a frame next to that of his dead first wife, Maude. We hear him say, “I sure do miss that laugh.”
