They never actually showed what her father told her. He had reservations but never came out and said what they were and who they were about. My guess with the way things played out is that most of them were her having to pull things out of Ben and him not being there for her. Ben even seemed to struggle to open up to her parents as well and he noticed that.
As for Ben’s future prospects, I’m pretty sure there was enough towel and shirtless scenes that he won’t have to look too far for his next date.
