The 2024 Summer Park Tour stopped by Village Green in Olmsted Falls for Stop 26 on the Summer. This remains one of our favorite parks on the yearly tour as it packs a punch with a lot to do, in a small but cozy space for west siders. Let’s get to the grades.
Don’t forget the full photo gallery on page two as well.
Access to the park
Grade – A
The park is not exactly hidden as pretty much everyone on this side of town has driven past it at least 500 times in their life. It is at the perfect location at Columbia Rd & Water St, Olmsted Falls. It is literally 5-10 minutes from North Olmsted, Olmsted Township, Berea, Fairview and Middleburgh Hts. There is plenty of room to park on both sides of the park, and it is easy to find from both ways, north and south.
Things to do at the park
Grade – B
The playground doesn’t offer a ton, but there is a splash pad for those really hot days. It does have two swing sets, one for big kids and one for toddlers. It is also small enough that you can sit and watch your kids the entire time without having to constantly move to keep up with them.
It has a rock wall, a straight slide and also curvy one, a large hoop bridge, ladders and a few other attractions to test out.
Places for parents to sit
Grade – A
It offers plenty of seating in the shade for parents and grandparents. Also, with several options to sit, you will have no problem keeping your eyes on your child at all times,
Bathroom Situation
Grade – B
It has indoor plumbing and also a cute outhouse looking building as well. It also boosts a water fountain if you need to refill your water bottle.
Cleanliness
Grade A
They use the soft rubber flooring instead of the shredded wooden mulch and it really makes a large difference. Your child won’t come home covered in filth, and they can still have fun.
Best part of the park
The people you may meet. I have long said Olmsted Falls is one of the nicest group of people you will ever meet. A favorite city of mine for a reason! On this night, we met an amazing older couple who were there with their grandchildren and talked for over an hour while the kids played.
Would I recommend?
Yes! A cute little park with plenty of things to do in a safe and clean environment.
