2022 SWC Girls Basketball Year End Awards

Player of the Year

Paige Kohler of Olmsted Falls

Paige Kohler is the total package when it comes to what you want in a High School Basketball player and teammate!  The kind of young woman who has all the talent in the world to score but is no stranger to playing defense and passing the ball.

Perhaps what separates Kohler from being very good to simply great, is her ability to hustle after every ball no matter the score.  If you don’t believe me, watch her get back on defense and stop a fast break almost every single time.

Teams looks for anyway they can to score on Olmsted Falls lights out defense, so when they get a runout, you can believe they are going to take it. The problem with that approach is 9 times out of 10, Kohler will chase that player down from behind and take it away.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times, Kohler has the scoring ability and talent to put up 30 points a game with ease, the fact that she doesn’t is why they haven’t lost a regular season SWC game since January of 2020, and that took a buzzer beater to accomplish.

She is the total package, leader, champion, teammate, All Star, defender, scoring threat and now M-V-P!!!!

Head coach Jordan Eaton had this to say about Kohler – Paige has worked tirelessly to improve in every aspect of the game. She leads vocally and by example. Her passion for getting better is what ultimately earned her this award.”
