2022 SWC Girls Basketball Year End Awards

New Sensations  (players that didn’t play in the SWC last year, that took it by storm this year!)

Kendall Braaten of Berea-Midpark

After two years of experience playing in big games with Laurel High School, she showed up with the Berea-Midpark Titans, seasoned and ready to go!  In a conference that was already loaded with talented guard play, Braaten showed up and made her presence known quickly with an incredible skill set.  She is on pace to finish her career with 1,000 points next year at Berea-Midpark.

Her coach and father Kevin Braaten had this to say, “She has been a culture-changer and has the ability to impact the game on both ends.  She brings it everyday, and has been a pleasure to coach.  Without her, we would be at the bottom of the SWC! “

Mary Meng – Midview

With the talent of Meng, she could have played anywhere but chose coach McNamara-Cole at Midview.  When she did, the rest of the SWC was instantly put on notice.  She joined an already stacked starting lineup led by Olivia DiFranco, who in my book is the second-best player in the conference behind Paige Kohler, and just took things over in the paint!

Kierney Murphy of Berea-Midpark

She gave the already loaded Titans an extra weapon on both ends of the court.  From Arizona to the SWC, Murphy made a difference.

Coach Kevin Braaten had this to share, “She is just a phenomenal kid that maximized her talent”.
