2022 SWC Girls Basketball Year End Awards

Most Improved Players of the Year

Kat Crevda of North Ridgeville

I saw Kat play a lot last year and this year, and the difference is very noticeable.  This season she began using her size and skill to be an offensive force.  She was always stout on defense but has added a new element to her game that makes the Rangers even better.

Her breakout moment was against Midview this year on Senior night, when her sudden burst of offense kept the Rangers in it in the first half. While Midview would go on to win the game, it was Crevda in the first half the kept the Rangers in it and gave them a chance.

Head Coach of the Rangers Amy Esser had this to say about Kat,

“Kat came into the fall recovering from a torn Meniscus and having other issues that resulted in a lot of setbacks. She came in climbing a mountain of adversity and pushed through throughout the season. She proved herself as a solid inside threat on the boards and on the block. I look forward to a healthier and stronger Kat next year so she can show everyone that she isn’t done improving and excelling.”

Sara Glover of Olmsted Falls

We knew she was good when she was last years Sixth Woman of the Year.  This year however she took it to the next level!  Sara is nonstop movement on both sides of the court and is constantly hustling for a rebound or a put back.  She blossomed even further this year after being inserted into the starting role with Olmsted Falls.

Her head coach Jordan Eaton has this to say about Glover, “She was our leading scorer this season against Mount Notre Dame and Hoban, she really has taken her game to a level of complete.”

Anna Fitch of Avon

When Catie Geiger graduated last year, the Avon Eagles had a hole in their starting backcourt for a defensive stopper, insert Anna Fitch!  She joined Brooke Laub and Ryan Clapham to make up one of the toughest backcourts you’re going to find!  Fitch added an offensive element to her game as well and became someone that coach Larrick could count on.

Coach Larrick of Avon had this to share about Anna, “Anna Fitch improved for the Lady Eagles and became a consistent and confident player for us. Throughout the season, Anna was able to make big plays to help our team to be successful, Anna also became a great force on the defensive side of the ball for us with her aggressive and physical style of play.

Anna has such a strong basketball IQ and she always makes those around her better. Anna most definitely showed great improvement throughout the season”

Danielle Cameron of Olmsted Falls

Last year the Olmsted Falls were 7 deep and proven this year with Lauren Noernberg and Sara Glover replacing graduating seniors Lauren Galaska and Allison Milligan in the starting lineup.  We all knew that was coming, but the mystery was who would fill the role left behind of Grace Simon?  Enter, Danielle “DC” Cameron! She has been a scoring machine this year and gives the Bulldogs 5 legit scoring weapons at all times.

Coach Eaton had this to share about Danielle, Danielle is a special player, she’s coachable, selfless and humble. Those traits are the main reason for her success.”
