2021 GLC Football Year End Awards

2022 Dynamic Duo’s to look out for.

There was a lot of dynamic duo’s this year, but with Braedon Spies and Tommy Bebie of Rocky River both graduating, I jumped ahead to next season to see who stood out as the most dangerous combination to watch out for. There are two combo’s that you will absolutely need to keep your eyes on.  One is obvious while another may have “soared” under the radar just a bit.

The obvious is Brady Cook and Levi Ellis who are coming off a remarkable year that saw them both go off.  Cook finished with 2189 yards and 21 touchdowns while Levi Ellis ran for 1,630 yards and 21 touchdowns.

The other however, may have slid under the radar just a bit. North Olmsted quarterback Xavier Balson finished the regular season with 379 yards on the ground, and his 1214 passing yards with 13 touchdown passes where top 2 for the GLC.

There’s no question, his biggest target was Jared Kelley who caught 32 balls for 465 yards and 13 touchdowns.  Kelley also had the epic two-point conversion in overtime to defeat the Bay Village Rockets Week 7.  These two together have a chemistry in the GLC that is almost unmatched.

  1. Yep, it would be nice for these young men to get some individual validation. They do all of the things you mentioned on Page 1, too!

  2. Nice job with the coverage and recognition of each individual team. I’m sure it not easy and KeeOnSports had an outstanding season just like all of the GLC players you mentioned. Being a bit of a homer, I will say that I enjoyed your coverage of North Olmsted the most. I would also like to mention the entire Offensive Line for the hard work they put in and the effort they gave in each game. LT: Joey Wengstrom has the size, strength and athletic ability to play at the next level. LG: Christian Riggen, I’ve watched him play since youth football, hard nosed young man, very tough. C: Brandon O’Boyle, two way player this season and perfect with every snap. Cowboy strong. RG: Kent Albert, another one that I’ve watched play sports since he was young. This guy is the pure definition of gym rat. Strong, obviously, since he is the lightest Lineman I’ve seen. RT: Jacob Holtz, just a sophomore starting every game. That says a ton considering the competition in the GLC. He is going to be fun to watch next year. Fantastic group of young men and 3 of them return next year.

  3. How did frankie boscarello not make the list when he is first team and a couple guys on this list are 2nd and hm
